Mercedes-Benz has given its luxury people-mover, the R-Class, a mild face-lift to keep it looking fresh and to more closely align it with the corporate look, says Managing Editor, Grant Yoxon. The 2011 R-Class goes on sale in August.

Based on the recent E-Class Coupe, the new 2011 E-Class Cabriolet features a retractable wind deflector at the top of the windscreen that helps reduce wind turbulence in the cabin while driving with the top down, reports Editor-in-chief, Greg Wilson.

Six models wear the S-Class badge, but the S550 is the "best buy," as odd as that sounds at $123,500, says Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh; it's a good blend of performance, unabashed luxury and better fuel consumption than expected.

"Well crafted, elegant, reasonably fuel efficient, and comfortable," the new E 350 Coupe is "a smooth operator" but "it doesn’t aspire to the dynamic greatness of the BMW 335i Coupe," reports reviewer Peter Bleakney.

"There's no doubt that the CLK is a lovely car: it looks expensive and is a nice driver, but its typical Mercedes reliability concerns are a turn-off, though, particularly in out-of-warranty models," says Contributing Editor, Chris Chase.

As a reminder that they’re more than just a luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz assembled a full lineup of its AMG performance models at a race-track near Las Vegas and invited dealers, customers and journalists to take them out for a fast test drive.
